Carex Bigelowii, or more commonly know as Bigelow's Sedge, is a graminoid with green foliage and green flowers of the genus Carex. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 0.4 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is summer and fall, blooms during mid summer, is somewhat tolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Carex Bigelowii or Bigelow's Sedge's floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont and Wyoming.
