Variable Sedge (Carex Polymorpha)
Carex Polymorpha, or more commonly know as Variable Sedge, is a graminoid with dark green foliage and green flowers of the genus Carex. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 2 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during late spring, is tolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Carex Polymorpha or Variable Sedge‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.
