Quercus Marilandica, or more commonly know as Blackjack Oak, is a tree shrub with dark green foliage and yellow flowers of the genus Quercus. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 25 feet at maturity. It’s duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during mid spring and is intolerant of shade. Quercus Marilandica or Blackjack Oak‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
