Carex Glaucescens, or more commonly know as Southern Waxy Sedge, is a graminoid with green foliage and green flowers of the genus Carex. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 4.9 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is spring, blooms during spring, is somewhat tolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Carex Glaucescens or Southern Waxy Sedge‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
