Red Goosefoot (Chenopodium Rubrum)

Chenopodium Rubrum, or more commonly know as Red Goosefoot, is a forb/herb (a forb/herb is a non-woody plant that is not a grass) with green foliage and red flowers of the genus Chenopodium. It has a rapid growth rate and a height of 3 feet at maturity. Its duration is annual which means it grows for one season only. It’s active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during late summer, is intolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Chenopodium Rubrum or Red Goosefoot‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
