American Plum (Prunus Americana)

Prunus Americana, or more commonly know as American Plum, is a tree shrub with green foliage and white flowers of the genus Prunus. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 24 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during mid spring and is intolerant of shade. Prunus Americana or American Plum‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
